This weekend at Brazil Comic-Con, Sony Pictures Animation unveiled the trailer for its animated Spider-Man movie. From what can be seen in the trailer, Spider-Man: Into The Spiderverse will be following Miles Morales as he discovers his powers and all the characters who make up the Spiderverse.

Spider-Man: Into The Spider-Verse introduces Brooklyn teen Miles Morales, and the limitless possibilities of the Spider-Verse, where more than one can wear the mask.

The animation in the trailer gives me the impression that Sony is going for a more stylized, comic book look.  The stop motion may be hit or miss depending on how fluid the action is presented on screen. Phil Lord and Christopher Miller are producers on the project and they have a good track record with animated movies based on their box-office hit Lego movies so expectations are high. Brian Persichetti and Peter Ramsey will be directing and the voice cast features Mahershala Ali, Live Schreiber, and Shameik Moore voicing Miles Morales.

Spider-Man: Into The Spider-Verse swings into theaters December 2018.
