Sony Pictures next CG Resident Evil series will be in theaters for one day in June, but it will also be released on DVD, Blu-ray, 4K Blu-ray on July 18.

Resident Evil: Vendetta will release digitally on June 20, one day after its theatrical release.

The 4K release is a three-disc combo pack featuring 4K Ultra HD and Blu-ray versions.  Standard Blu-ray and 4K will come with a bonus disc consisting of behind-the-scenes footage from last year’s Tokyo Game Show along with two featurettes.

Resident Evil: Vendetta is the third CG movie the Resident Evil series, following Resident Evil: Degeneration (2008) and Resident Evil: Damnation (2012).  It is set in New York City and features Leon Kennedy, Chris Redfield, and Rebecca Chambers.

The film is produced by Marza Animation Planet (“Space Pirate Captain Harlock”), executive produced by Takashi Shimizu (“The Grudge”), written by Makoto Fukami (“Psycho Pass”) and directed by Takanori Tsujimoto (“Bushido Man”).

Resident Evil: Vendetta will be released internationally on May 27, 2017, and in the U.S. and Canada on Monday, June 19 for a special one-night event from Fathom Events, Park Circus and Sony Pictures Worldwide Acquisitions.
