An all new Rogue One: A Star Wars Story trailer has been released with more insight to Jyn Orso and a little more screen time of Vader.
The trailer opens with Jyn as a child, speaking with her father and the imperials show up. It was a dream/flashback and we learn that her father is behind the design plans for the Death Star.
I’m guessing her father’s involvement is the reason the rebels recruited her.
Unlike the previous trailers, Jyn is more vulnerable in this latest one. We get to see her reason and motivation for joining the rebel alliance, her dad. I love how with every Star Wars movies one of the main focal points for the antagonists is family. Luke and his father/sister, Anakin and his mother/wife, Ben Solo and his father/grandfather/uncle, Rey and her mystery parents, and now Jyn and her father. That dynamic makes a tale gripping and adds more tension to the plot.
Vader also appears in the trailer but only for a second each time. First we see his back while being spoken to by Director Krennic and then we get to see him walking and breathing. It would have been great to see more of him but less is probably best.
