Thursday night, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out Of The Shadows had a disappointing  showing with a whooping $2 million haul. That number is $2.6 million off of 2014’s Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, which pulled in $4.6 million.

Last night, Out Of The Shadows earned $12.5 million which puts it on pace to make between $32 – 35 million for the weekend. Paramount expected a $35 – 40 million earning at the box office this weekend and it’s looking like the final total will fall within that wheelhouse but still well short of its predecessor. In 2014, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles raked in $65.5 million its opening weekend and that was in August. I’m sure Paramount expected more, especially with a June release but the movie is not tracking well on Rotten Tomatoes and currently sits at a 30% freshness rating.
