Disney and Marvel’s Captain America: Civil War kicked off summer at the U.S. box office with a whopping $25 million Thursday night, only behind last year’s Avengers: Age of Ultron which bought in $27.6 million.

Marvel’s The Avengers made $18.7 million its Thursday night following, Iron Man 3 with $15.6 million, and Captain America: The Winter Soldier with $10.2 million.

The film also earned an estimated $3.1 million in IMAX Thursday and now holds the new Marvel record, beating Avengers: Age of Ultron’s $3 million.


Captain America: Civil War is now in theaters.
