According to a report on Deadline, Producer Marc Platt is in talks with Sega to produce a Shinobi movie.

Shinobi is a series of video games that first debuted in 1987 in video arcades. The original Shinobi is the tale of a ninja who was once weak but trained himself to be the best ninja ever. The crime syndicate Zeed rises to power and wants to bring Japan back to a time of civil war and it is up to him to put an end to Zeed’s treachery. When the game moved over to Playstation 2 the story revolved around a master ninja who had to take down a powerful sorceror and bring peace to Tokyo. There have been 12 Shinobi titles released across multiple gaming platforms since 1987.

When Platt made the announcement he had this to say, ““We love the Shinobi games and believe that the world of ninjas has never been properly explored onscreen. We now have the opportunity to do just that. With Shinobi, we hope to make a film that honors the essence of the games.”
