The critics and fans have spoken and now Warner Bros. Studios is responding.

The studio will be cutting back on smaller films to focus more on its “tentpole” franchises like the Harry Potter universe and the DCEU.  The news comes after a massive drop in box office earnings for Batman v Superman in its second week run. Dawn Of Justice had a record breaking first week but fell off by more than 50% viewership amidst bad reviews and word of mouth.

Wonderwoman has been bumped up to June 2, 2017 and the two new unnamed movie release dates will be October 5, 2018 and November 1, 2019. There’s no word yet on what the movies will be but rumor has it that one may be a Batman solo film.

Batman

Ben Affleck has not signed on to direct but I think it would be in his best interest to do so, especially considering how much of a fan he is of the Dark Knight and his knowledge of the character.

This decision could prove to be a game changer for Warner Bros. if they want to catch up with Marvel. A clear vision of how to open up this universe is needed and everyone needs to be on board with the direction or it will fail big time.
