Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice broke some box office records over the weekend, regardless of what critics had to say about the movie.  It made $170.1 million in North America, which is the biggest March opening ever, and number one opening weekend for a superhero movie.  The film is also the number 1 opening for a Warner Bros. and DC Comics movie.

“This sets us up well,” said Jeff Goldstein, Warner Bros. distribution executive vice president. “We’re very proud of what we’ve made before in the DC world and what’s coming in front of us is really exciting.”

Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice is currently in theaters.
