A new trailer has been released for X-Men: Apocalypse with some new footage we haven’t seen but mostly with ones we already have.
The trailer begins with Magneto talking with Professor X about him fearing that one day “they’ll” come for him and his children. Professor X replies, “I feel a great swell of pity, for the poor soul who comes to my school, looking for trouble”. You may recognize this line from the very first X-Men movie in 2000, when the older Charles Xavier was speaking to the older Eric Lensherr. We also get our first shot of Apocalypse’s rebirth in what looks to be a pyramid chamber. There’s a cage match fight scene between Angel and Nightcrawler which looks strange out of context so we’ll have to wait and see about that one. Quicksilver returns along with a look at his mother and apparently he plans on joining the X-Men team. I also wonder if a further connection will be made of the storyline between him and Magneto. If you’ve never read the comics, Magneto is the father of Quicksilver and Scarlet Witch. That dynamic is an interesting and I can’t wait.
Overall we get more views of scenes we’ve already been treated to and the extra footage is nice like the scene of Havok letting loose inside Cerebro and more footage of Magneto. That in particular leads me to speculate that he will play a big role in this movie and may even be a focal point. Check out the trailer here and let us know what you think in the comments section below, later days!
