I did not see this coming…but according to THR J.K. Simmons will play Commissioner James Gordon in Zack Snyder’s upcoming Justice League – Part One.

Many fans may be excited about this casting and some may not…obviously.  Many fans were pushing for Bryan Cranston, best known as Walter White on AMC’s Breaking Bad.

J.K. Simmons is best known for playing J. Jonah Jameson in Sam Raimi’s Spider-Man films by comic fans.  Now making the switch from Marvel to DC it will be interesting to see him play the Gotham City Police Commissioner in the upcoming team-up film.

Justice League: Part One will start shooting in mid-April. It’s slated for release on Nov 17, 2017 while Part Two will hit theaters on June 14, 2019. Warner Bros.’ next DC film will beBatman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, which hits theaters on March 25.
