Leonardo DiCaprio received a standing ovation from the crowd for winning best actor for his role in The Revenant.  

DiCaprio portrayed Hugh Glass in The Revenant and won his second Golden Globe Award for Best Actor – Motion Picture Drama. He also won his first BAFTA this year.

When he accepted the award, Leo thanked co-star Tom Hardy, director Alejandro González Iñárritu, cinematographer Emmanuel Lubezki, and his parents. He then focused his attention to the issue of Global Warming.

DiCaprio beat out other nominees Matt Damon for The Martian, Bryan Cranston for Trumbo, Eddie Redmayne for The Danish Girl, and Michael Fassbender for Steve Jobs.
